When you've accrued a sizeable army it's time to go and find the other houses and take them on. The spice collected can be traded you earn credits which you then spend on other installations (including gun turrets to protect your production centre, because once you lose it to enemy action you can't build and your game's effectively over). The game's mission-based and usually involves collecting spice using large harvesters (destroyable, so if you see an enemy harvester, destroy it). Based on the planet Arrakis, it's a one player wargame centred around three clans, or houses, battling for control of the planet and the spice that the planet produces. This model is not to be uploaded or sold in any form and is intended for personal use only.Maybe sixth best of all time was a bit harsh because this truly is one of the best Amiga games ever written. When assembled, this piece measured ~20 cm from front to tail, and has a wingspan of ~45cm when the wings are fully extended. It also is sized to be somewhat in scale with 28mm miniatures (as shown in the photos above). This simple model features hinged wings which can be posed in different positions. A decidedly simple piece which we started with and still gets quite a lot of love till this day! :) It's quite a blast from the past also, as one of our very very earliest model was the Windtrap from Dune II. And so, we just had to model and bring our own version into real life. Used exclusively by House Atreides in the game, these exotic vehicles zipped all over the battlemap by flapping its wings. ![]() ![]() There was always something about the Ornithoper from the classic favorite Dune II game, which felt so cool. ![]()
